CACTUSWIM / HOW WE THINK

Swim
Logic.

How our research takes shape.

Observe. Question. Look again. A little distance between a market move and a conclusion.

Follow the thinking
A saved research run, on replay. No live analysis or trading.

01 / THE THINKING

Curiosity.
With a second look.

Five habits behind our research notes.

  1. Observe
  2. Consider
  3. Challenge
  4. Revisit
  5. Publish
OBSERVE

Read the room.

A price move needs context. We look at what changed and how it fits the wider market.

CONSIDER

A move is not the whole story.

A possible trade still has costs and uncertainty. An interesting chart is a starting point, not a promise.

CHALLENGE

Give the other side a seat.

AI helps organise the evidence and examine alternative readings. A confident answer still needs a reason.

REVISIT

Leave room for a no.

When the evidence no longer supports an idea, we set it aside. Waiting is a valid conclusion.

PUBLISH

Put a date on it.

Each report keeps the date of its market observation. Later commentary has its own date, so the two are easy to tell apart.

02 / AN INVENTED EXAMPLE

A bounce.
Not a conclusion.

Imagine a market that has just bounced. That is one observation. The wider picture might still ask us to wait.

EXAMPLE AFICTIONAL
Observation
The price has bounced.
Another view
The wider picture is still unclear.
Conclusion
Wait for more evidence.

Invented for explanation.
No real coin, price or trading result.

Reports describe a view at a particular time. They do not place orders or establish future performance.

03 / KEEP READING
